Resuming Dental Services

Princes Street Dental Practice will be open from Monday 15th June .We need to be clear that this will not be business as usual. The treatments you are offered may be different to those you received before, depending on staff and equipment availability.

It may take some time before services return to normal. Please be patient.

At the practice we are committed to your safety and that of our staff. Infection control is our top priority. The practice follows infection control guidelines made by the governing bodies of the UK. We are up to date with new guidance that has been recently issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current, and we adhere strictly to these recommendations.

Changes that have been put in place

  • The Practice will communicate with you beforehand to ask some health screening questions. You’ll be asked these same questions again at your appointment.
  • We have handwashing facilities and sanitizer that we will ask you to use on entering the building
  • We no longer offer magazines, books, childrens toys. They are not easy to disinfect.
  • The waiting area chairs will be spaced accordingly. These chairs are made of plastics and metal, and are easily disinfected.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointments .Our appointments system will allow greater time between patients, which will reduce the number of persons in the building at any one time.

How can you help?

  • Before you arrive, please ensure you have used your toilet facilities, have hydrated and brushed your teeth.
  • Please bring your own pen for signing your paperwork.
  • With the exception of children and patients with a carer, patients should come alone.
  • A distance of at least 2 metres must be observed if another patient is present in the dental practice.
  • Payment should be made by card. We no longer wish to accept cash or cheques. A system is in place so you no longer make skin contact with the card payment key pad.
  • Please arrive at your appointment time (try not to be early). If necessary, you should wait outside the practice. If parked locally you could phone us to make sure that the building is clear for your arrival.
  • If you feel more comfortable attending wearing a mask please do so. (That goes for gloves too.)We will just ask you to remove the mask at the appropriate times!
  • Please do not arrive at the practice without an appointment.
  • If you have any of the symptoms of COVID-19 virus, please let us know. DO NOT ATTEND and follow the guidance of 14 days of self-isolation. We can postpone your appointment and offer it to other patients.
